This is to inform all National Open University of Nigeria Students that the management has released the faculty of science practical timetable for the 2021_2 semester, The science practical is scheduled to commence from 11th to 24th October 2021. NOUN science practical will hold in all the six geographical zones in Nigeria.

All study centres within a zone would use the designated venue for that zone as shown. Practical sessions shall be held for the following courses and levels. 1. BIO191 2. BIO192 3. CHM191 4. CHM192 5. CIT104 6. PHY191 7. PHY192 8. 100 and 200 Level students MTH Courses 9. 200Level Environmental Science Department 200, 300 and 400 ESM and EMT courses.
NOTE
1. Please take note of the zone in which your Study Centre falls
2. Students in all the Faculties who are registered for the listed courses should attend the practical classes as appropriate
3. Scores of the practical exercise shall form an integral part of the final score for the courses concerned.

NOUN 2021_2 SCIENCE PRACTICAL EXERCISE INFORMATION
HANDS-ON PRACTICAL SESSIONS, 2021
In line with Science practice worldwide and senate directives, the Faculty of Sciences is incorporating science practical as compulsory for all students taking science courses.
Considering that laboratory practical is an integral part of science courses, student’s grades in hands-on practicals shall constitute 15% of the TMA. Therefore, as you register for science courses in your different programmes listed below: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Mathematics & Computer and Physics, endeavour to go to the nearest practical centre to your study centre for your hands-on practical experience.
Practical sessions shall hold Monday to Saturday, 9.00 am to 6.00 pm in three sessions daily. The 3rd session (i.e to pm) is to accommodate working-class students who would need to be at work in the morning.
The Saturday is particularly meant for those outside the state of the practical centre but within the same geopolitical zone. All students must come with their Laboratory coat (NO EXCUSE WILL BE CONSIDERED)
On each day, three sessions are held as follows:
i. First session; 9.00 am to 12 noon
ii. Second session; 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm
iii. Third session; 3.45 pm – 6.45 pm
Students are to note that:
i. The practical sessions will be strict as scheduled. Students who come at other times will not be allowed to take classes.
ii. A standard student practical book is required from each student to record observations and reports.
iii. Each student should ensure that he/she comes with a white long sleeve laboratory coat, three-quarter length.
Strict adherence to the above is mandatory to guarantee success.
Students should note that practical examinations shall be taken at the end of the exercise.
